Seilich
Seilich Botanicals, a client since 2018 who specialises in natural skincare, came to me with a new brief: to elevate their packaging to reflect their brand's unique ethos and dedication to nature. I’ve worked with Seilich on various projects over the years, and this one was all about focussing on the key botanicals that form the base for their product range.

Seilich produces a variety of skincare products, and each one needed a unique yet cohesive look. This project involved creating new labels and outer box packaging for sixteen products. Together our aim was to create packaging that was not only beautiful but also aligned with Seilich’s commitment to the environment.
We started with a deep dive into botanical illustration, I scoured the globe for the perfect illustrator, created many moodboards and asked many questions; eventually we found someone whose work perfectly captured the natural beauty Seilich stands for and her style was right up our street too. After tweaking the illustrations for print purposes, I integrated them into the packaging design where they are a focal point and highlight the dominant botanical in each product.
Design Process
Next, it was time to develop a complementary colour palette to use alongside Seilich’s pre-existing brand colours. This allowed us to create boxes with a harmonious blend of hues that highlighted the botanicals in each; with each box’s base colour contrasting or complementing the illustration colours.
Packaging and Production
Seilich also elevated their bottles with deep violet glassware for the products; protecting and revitalising the natural products and drastically extending their shelf life These bottles, with their square shoulders, added a touch of elegance to the range.
Whilst designing the labels, from tiny lip balm tins to larger glass bottles, I maintained consistency with the brand identity while featuring the key botanicals in their outlined version. We collaborated with local company NSD Labels in Dalkeith and J.T. Thomson in Glasgow for the boxes; keeping all production within Scotland. The boxes and labels have a satin finish with a subtle spot gloss over the botanical illustrations and the Seilich logo, creating a sophisticated and tactile experience.
The Result
The new packaging has taken Seilich Botanicals to the next level. The cohesive and beautiful design has received rave reviews from customers and industry professionals alike. It’s even garnered some press coverage, showcasing the brand’s elevated status. Seeing these products stand out on shelves amongst it’s competitors is a testament to the successful collaboration.
